Here is my recently finished Bf109 E-7 built from the venerable Tamiya 1/48 kit.
everything people tell you about Tamiya kits is true for the 1/48 109 E's they produce. You get a nicely detailed kit that builds very quickly and has superb engineering and fit. I enhanced this with a few bits of aftermarket resin from Ultracast. I used replacement exhausts, seat and wheels as well as a replacement propellor and spinner.
Decals are from Radu Brinzan who publishes several sheets for the Romanian 109's.
Romania used a number of 109 E's to help support the German invasion of the Soviet Union. Initially they were equipped with Bf109E-3's but with some attritional losses some Bf109E-7s were supplied.
images of the aircraft show the Romanian mechanics mixed and matched components to keep the sircraft in operational condition so its possible to see aircraft with a mish mash of canopy styles and features from earlier of later marques of aircraft.
Here are some images of the Model..
I painted it with Gunze lacquers. Weathering is a combination of oil paints and some enamels for the Exhaust stains and a panel wash made form highly thinned oil paint. With some chipping from a silver watercolour pencil.
Thanks for looking.
