Hasegawa 1/32 ME163 'Komet'

Last Year I took part in a large scale model aircraft group build.

The kits built had to be 1/32 or larger and I ended up building 3 of the classic Hasegawa kits that date from the 1970's.

Of the 3 i enjoyed the ME163 the most it was also the last one I did.. So I think I'd gotten into the swing of working in 1/32 by then..

Strangely I haven't built a 1/32 since but I've been busy this year with lots of 1/48 and some 1/35 armour. But I have bought a few more modern 1/32 kits for the Stash.

The ME163 is a great kit which has been eclipsed by the recent MENG kit in 1/32. However it builds up very nicely and looks great when finished.

I can remember building the Heller 163 kit as a kid and being amazed that this was a WW2 era aircraft.  It's still the worlds only operational rocket powered fighter aircraft.

I painted the model in Gunze Lacquer paints and used the kit decals. In hindsight I should have painted the main markings as the Hasegawa carrier film on the decals was a bit thick. But you live and learn.

Thanks for looking..
