Last year saw a number of Group Build in 'forum' land for the Spitfire.
I built several and they were my first 'serious' 1/48 builds..
For one GB I built Tamiya's Vb 'Trop' kit. The kit is an easy build and I built it pretty much OOB with the addition of an Eduard Seat harness and some Ultracast Exhausts and a bit of fine brass tube for some machine guns. I used a decal scheme from an Xtradecal sheet for a Tropical Vb.
Tamiya's 1/48 Spitfire kits get a bit of stick from the Spitfire Purists mainly on shape. I don't know about that. It looks like a Spitfire to me and to 99.99% of folk looking at it they will think the same thing... Tamiya's Spitfires build superbly and make a klutz like me look like I know what I'm doing..

I painted the model with Gunze paints and painted on the upper wing roundels and fin flash and wing walkway markings. The rest are decals. I weathered it quite heavily as the desert was a harsh service environment. The underside on this Aircraft was Sky Blue not Azure Blue so I made a bespoke paint mix to cover that.
Here it is with another build I did for the same GB the Seafire IIC is build from the Airfix kit..
I was lucky enough to Win 1st Prize in 1/48 Props with the Vb Trop at a local show...
Thanks for looking..
